DailyGuessr
Guess 1 / 5

What is DailyGuessr?

DailyGuessr is a free daily geography game. Every day at midnight a new 360° street-level panorama is published — the same one for every player around the world. Your job is to figure out where in the world it was taken.

You have five guesses. Click or tap anywhere on the world map to place your pin. After your first guess you'll see the distance in kilometres. From the second guess onwards you also get a direction arrow pointing you toward the correct location. The closer you get, the higher your score — up to a maximum of 10,000 points.

How scoring works

Scoring is based on distance. A pin placed within 50 km of the correct location earns a green badge and close to the maximum score. The formula rewards precision — even shaving 100 km off your guess makes a meaningful difference. At the end of each round you'll see an emotion label ranging from "Completely Lost" to "Local Expert".

One puzzle per day

There's no "play again" button. One puzzle per day, same for everyone. This creates a shared experience — players around the world are all looking at the same panorama on the same day. Finished today's puzzle? Use the calendar to go back and play any historical puzzle you missed.

Free, forever

No account. No subscription. No timer. DailyGuessr is completely free to play and always will be. It's a side project built for people who love geography and miss the casual, exploratory feeling of early GeoGuessr.

How to Play

  1. Step 1 — Study the panoramaYou start with a 360° street-level photo. Rotate left and right to look around. Look for clues: road signs, architecture, vegetation, terrain, license plates, language on signs, driving side, power lines, and the general landscape.
  2. Step 2 — Place your pinClick or tap on the world map to place your guess pin. You can zoom in and out of the map for precision. On mobile, tap "Place Guess on Map" to open the full map.
  3. Step 3 — Submit your guessHit the Guess button. After your first guess you'll see the distance in kilometres — no direction yet. From the second guess onwards you also get a direction arrow showing which way to adjust your next pin.
  4. Step 4 — Use your hintsYou have five guesses total. Attempt 1 gives you distance only. Attempts 2–5 give you distance plus a direction arrow. Use early guesses to narrow down the continent, then refine from there.
  5. Step 5 — Share your resultAfter finishing, copy your emoji result with the Share button and post it anywhere. No spoilers — the share format only shows distances, not the location.

Distance Badges

After each guess, the distance is colour-coded:

🟢within 50 km~10,000 pts
🔵within 200 km~8,700 pts
🟡within 500 km~7,000 pts
🟠within 1,500 km~3,600 pts
🔴within 4,000 km~1,000 pts
over 4,000 km~100 pts

Scoring labels

9,000–10,000 ptsLOCAL EXPERT
7,000–8,999 ptsWELL TRAVELLED
5,000–6,999 ptsGETTING THERE
3,000–4,999 ptsLOST
0–2,999 ptsCOMPLETELY LOST

Tips

  • Vegetation is one of the most reliable clues — tropical, temperate, arid, and alpine regions all look very different.
  • Road markings and signage styles vary significantly by country and region.
  • The quality and style of infrastructure often narrows down the continent quickly.
  • If you're completely lost, guess a central location in your best-guess continent to minimise maximum distance.
  • Your streak resets if you miss a day — use the calendar to catch up on historical puzzles.
